27 AUGUST - I'M GRATEFUL

FOR CARING YET EMPOWERING ORGANISATIONS LIKE THIS ONE - CHARCOAL LANE IN GERTRUDE STREET FITZROY.
IT'S A SWANKY RESTAURANT WHICH PROVIDES THE OPPORTUNITY FOR ABORIGINAL AND DISADVANTAGED YOUNG PEOPLE TO TRANSFORM THEIR LIVES THROUGH TRAINING AND WORKING THERE.
ALL PROFITS GO BACK INTO THEIR TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT.

  1. Tony Curry who owns Tyre and More at morningside does a similar thing...he employs indigenous people and trains them in mechanical stuff. I don't think people realise how hard it is to be an indigenous person in this country...it makes me so angry!!I have a friend who finds it hard simply to get rental accomodation, let alone employment and training. Good on Charcoal Lane !! (Yes Nat... I've had a couple of wines...I think I just had a bit of a rant...sorry)
